From Peter
I wish you all a happy, joyful, healthy, and successful 2003!
Our 2002 was a roller coaster with ups and downs. The family is doing well. Ladina is now in second grade, she loves to read books, she makes very nice artwork (we send our kids to art school once a week) and she likes to dance. Alexis is in Kindergarden, he is now a nice naughty boy. When he laughs in his high pitched tone, anyone around can't help but laugh. I like to call our kids "the monsters".
At home I am busy with TWiki as an open source software and as a business. In 2002 I had 27,400 mainly TWiki related e-mail, or 77 e-mail per day in average. At the open source web site
TWiki.org we have 12,000 pages, 4,820 registered users, and have had 22,500 software downloads to date. TWiki as a business is developing very slow. We incorporated TWikiNet in spring and are still preparing the business. We could not secure any funding, it is very tough now for Internet related businesses. Because of that we refocused our business to create a web hosting site for secure collaboration using TWiki. We set up the hosting web site with our own little funding, it is currently in Beta testing. My business partner Chako Ando quit in fall because she could no longer work without income. So, it's currently on the slow lane.
Work at
Wind River is
interesting, and very busy with increasing responsibility. We had a third round of layoffs in spring. And this month we will have yet another one, scaling down from 1500 employees to 1000.
I hope to see you some day in California, Switzerland, Hong Kong or Japan! Or your home town?
From Ladina Renata HoiWing (7 1/2 years)
I went on a trip. My family and another family went to Las Vegas. I had fun! We saw shows. My favorite show was the magic show. The magic show was by Rick Thomas. He made a girl turn into a tiger.
From Alexis Jonas HoiChun (almost 6 years)
Happy New Year to everybody. I like to do mouse traps and games. I don't want to say anything else.
